A friend of mine, a Marine in his mid-twenties has returned from Iraq last month 3/2008 .. I can definitely see and feel that he is going through some adjustments, psychologically he seems a little bit 'lost', 'confused', and perhaps 'down' .. but is trying his best to remain cool as if nothing has ever happened, and that he would get back to normalcy and all will be 'honky-dory'. We all know that is not how it works. This young man is smart, mature, independent, and is trying hard to get back in track without any fuss .. but we also know that being in Iraq for the past 7 months has taken its toll on his everyday life now. Is this a somewhat of a 'typical' case for a young man returning home from war ? Is there anything I can DO or SAY (or not say!) to him that might ease his burden in any shape or form??
