BEIJING, Jan. 7 (Xinhuanet) — Blue water ocean is now opening up for the crew on Snow Dragon, which has been stranded in an Antarctic icepack in for 4 days.
The wind direction has changed, now coming from the west, loosening the dense ice floes surrounding the ship. That’s allowed Xue Long to break free. The ship is now heading out at a speed of 6 kilometers per hour. Xue Long’s crew said earlier that its 101 passengers on board are safe and have plenty of food and fuel.
